In 2023 Tui Davidson founded Earthly Remains, a not-for-profit organisation committed to advocating for a truly environmentally sustainable option for disposition in Australia; and, this method, Human Composting, to be affordable and not contribute to funeral debt.

In 2019 up to 1/3 of people experienced financial hardship paying for funerals and the situation has only worsened with cost of living pressures, to the point where people are crowd funding funerals. 

As a society we can do this better. Tui is also committed to promoting quality death education and bereavement support, promoting and building community connections to improve our approach to death, and assisting with providing information and referral services.
